Already two new Thai Café thanks to the “exceptional support” of crowdfunding

The first establishment "fully funded by the funds raised" has already opened its doors in Ixelles, three days before the end of the crowdfunding campaign launched last May. A second new Thai Café is also preparing to welcome customers in August near Place du Luxembourg.

"In strategic locations in the capital." Opposite the Ixelles Cemetery, on the other side of the roundabout, there was until recently a Be Burger, named after the chain launched in 2015 by chef Roland Debuyst, but whose last owners declared bankruptcy before the summer.

In the never-ending cycle of the hospitality industry, the venue has since undergone a makeover and was inaugurated on July 18th under the banner of Thai Café. "We said it, we did it. But what makes this opening truly magical is that this project was entirely self-financed thanks to our incredible customers via our crowdfunding campaign," the Asian cuisine brand boasts, announcing this first location supported by crowdfunding.

As a reminder, from May 21 to July 21, management had entrusted its community with the investment in its expansion plan. The Belgian restaurant group wanted to add 6 new establishments to its menu by 2026. To do this, Thai Café had opened a share of the capital of the parent company, thus offering loyal gourmets to become co-owners , in exchange for a total amount of 2.5 million euros.

With this first crowdfunding phase having been successful, a second round of €1 million to €1.5 million could follow in the coming years. Meanwhile, another new restaurant is already ready. Also taking up residence in the former Be Burger on Rue du Luxembourg, which has been completely renovated for the occasion, this Thai café will welcome gourmets next month; the brand has not yet specified the exact date.

Let us add that the upcoming opening of a third establishment is already looming, scheduled in Wemmel for an "opening around October", the group provides as its only deadline before adding as a clue "in a magnificent building". If we follow the logic of the installation of the previous new Thai Cafés, a small architectural gem stands right on the Chaussée de Bruxelles and housed in a semi-industrial setting a burger counter which now no longer exists...
