The food group Vandemoortele acquires Délifrance. After several major acquisitions in the United States and Italy, Vandemoortele embarks on a new adventure with one of Europe's leading frozen food producers.

Vandemoortele is stepping up its acquisitions. At the beginning of the week, it was the European margarine and spreads division of the American multinational Bunge. Today, Vandemoortele strikes again with the acquisition of the French Délifrance, one of the main producers of frozen bakery products in Europe, generating a turnover of 930 million euros as of June 30, 2024. By combining their assets and know-how, Délifrance and Vandemoortele could offer their customers a full range of pastries, artisan breads, donuts, Italian delicatessen products and patisserie products under well-known brands such as Délifrance, Banquet d'Or, Doony's, Lanterna, Acquaviva and Lizzi. This project would create a new world-class group (projected turnover of 2.4 billion euros). “We have a lot of respect for the know-how and expertise that Délifrance represents,” says Yvon Guerin, CEO of Vandemoortele. ”This new alliance would enable us to accelerate our growth and create powerful synergies in terms of customer service, product ranges, innovation and brand strategy.” Until now, Délifrance was part of the French agricultural and food cooperative group Vivescia. Earlier this year and in 2024, Vandemoortele made two acquisitions in Italy (Dolciaria Acquaviva and Lizzi) and two in the United States (Banneton and Bunge). The amount of the acquisition of Délifrance is unknown to date.
