The Belgian healthy dining chain is reaching a new milestone in its international expansion. Its ultra-fresh ready meals are now appearing on the shelves of Billa supermarkets in Austria. For Foodmaker, this marks the fifth export market reached through its international distribution network.

With a strong presence in Belgium and Luxembourg (notably through its partnership with Delhaize), Foodmaker is already available at major retailers in the Netherlands, France, and Germany. Its arrival at Billa strengthens its international footprint. For its Austrian debut, Foodmaker is offering a selection of six dishes, including both hot and cold options.
"We are very proud of this major milestone in our development," says Lieven Vanlommel, CEO of Foodmaker. "Being present in five foreign markets proves that our vision of fresh, healthy, and accessible food resonates far beyond our borders."
The brand he founded aims to set itself apart from traditional supermarket offerings. Unlike conventional ready meals with a long shelf life, Foodmaker's products are prepared daily.
Furthermore, Foodmaker controls the entire value chain, from cultivation in its own organic fields to the development of recipes in its central kitchen in Westerlo. "This short-circuit model eliminates intermediaries, limits waste, and guarantees irreproachable quality for the end consumer," the company explains.
The brand prides itself on guaranteeing meals free from artificial additives, preservatives, and refined sugars, and is the only Belgian company to hold the "Biocyclic-Vegan Agriculture" certification.
To meet growing international demand, Foodmaker has increased its production capacity to 160,000 meals per day, prepared at its 20,000 $m^2$ facility in Westerlo by a staff of 350 employees.
