The renowned Bruges chocolatiers of The Chocolate Line have just launched a takeout concept at the national airport and have created a limited edition of pralines for the Singapore Airlines company.

Renowned Bruges chocolatiers Dominique and Julius Persoone, who run the "family business" The Chocolate Line, are taking things to the next level. On July 1st, they opened The Chocolate Shack at Brussels Airport, a concept store selling all sorts of chocolate treats to take away.
Travelers can create their own snack by personalizing it with a wide variety of toppings, from crunchy to fruity to melt-in-the-mouth. "This unique experience puts customization at the heart of the pleasure - a real treat before takeoff," Zaventem Airport emphasizes.
Far from being an anecdotal inauguration, here are the artisans installed in the largest chocolate sales point in the world, where tourists buy an average of 1.5 kilos of this national specialty every minute, or some 2 tons per day or more than 800 tons per year.

Another project, no longer operational but produced, Dominique and Julius Persoone have also just designed a special box of nine pralines for Singapore Airlines. Cleverly named Chocolatitude , this collection can be found in The Chocolate Line stores in Bruges and Antwerp and has been distributed by the airline to its best customers since July 8.
Singapore Airlines celebrates its first anniversary in Belgium with pralines
At this stage, it is not yet possible to enjoy these chocolates in the cabin because the taste experience changes at high altitude, and further tests will be conducted to verify whether any adjustments to the flavors are necessary. If the tests prove conclusive, the pralines could appear in the offering for business class customers.
Having been operating in Belgium since last year, Singapore Airlines wanted to make a lasting impression. "For this first anniversary, we wanted to do something special. The Chocolate Line fits perfectly with our values. We have a highly developed sense of detail, and so do they," explained Christian Stenkewitz, Managing Director Benelux of Singapore Airlines, in Het Nieuwsblad .

Each praline thus references a destination served from Belgium. Head chocolatier Julius Persoone worked for nearly eight months on the development of this collection. The creator, named Best Chocolatier 2023 by the Gault & Millau gastronomic guide, is particularly pleased with the praline developed for Australia: its cocoa, sourced from a plantation on volcanic soils in Oceania, develops the smoky notes of an Australian barbecue.
Please note that the box of nine pralines costs 21 euros and includes a “Golden Ticket” type competition to win a trip for two people.
